What is Boric Acid?
Boric Acid, also known as hydrogen borate, boracic acid and arthroboric acid, is a naturally occurring molecule found in the environment. It’s found in soil, water and plants. It’s used in fertilizers, cleaning products, laundry detergents, and personal care products. In the pest control industry, it’s used as a pesticide.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Boric acid can have two modes of action. When mixed with an attractant and ingested by insects, it will disrupts their nervous system which leads to death. Insects may also come in physical contact with boric acid which will physically damage their exoskeleton and become lodged in joints which incapacitates them.
