The In2Care mosquito trap lures and contaminates Aedes mosquitoes with a special slow-killing larvicide and lets them spread this larvicide to other breeding sites (which are often hard to find and treat) so that mosquito larvae are not only killed inside the trap but also in its vicinity. This larvicide only kills mosquito larva and is completely harmless to other insects and animals. The larvicide, combined with a biological fungal adulticide, kills the contaminated female mosquito after a few days to prevent her from transmitting any viruses like Dengue or Zika virus.
In this way, the product kills the mosquitoes and their offspring, so that populations are reduced and disease transmission risks are lowered significantly. 3. BACTERIAL CONTROL
That’s right, bacteria! We apply a special strain of bacteria known as BTI or Bacillus Thuringiensis v. Israelensis. Good luck saying that three times fast. This strain of bacteria is applied as a dissolvable granular to gardens, flower pots, bromeliads, birdbaths, and anywhere standing water could become a breeding site for mosquitos on your property. Not only does this bacteria feed on mosquito larvae, but it also feeds on fungus gnat and black fly larvae. We even apply them to indoor plants to help control fungus gnat larvae found in the soil of most house plants.
